Poppy Appeal
Remembrance Sunday falls on 9 November with Armistice Day on 11 November, when the Nation pauses for a two minute silence.
The Poppy Appeal takes place for the two weeks prior and is being launched in Basra in Iraq this year. Last year funds of £30 million were raised for the British Legion, who support thousands servicing and ex-Service people and their families. Donating to the Poppy Appeal

this month ..."The market is very tough especially with the media being hell bent in on destroying property sales with its continuing doom and gloom reporting. However Hometrack reported a 5.5% increase in sales and there's a very real possibility of another interest rate cut, we can only speculate as to whether or not the bank of England will bite the bullet with a minimum of a full 1% - at least.
We've seen some very positive interest in land sales and have agreed transactions in Chichester, Swindon and Horsham. It would seem land owners appreciate the prevailing market conditions and are prepared to consider transactions where monies are paid in a way to protect the developers return on capital employed and in that way maintain reasoned value for their land.
We have also received several new sites, which are saleable but the flatted consented opportunities have become unattractive because of capital lock up."
