Reside, Woodcote House, Chichester
Chichester as a city doesn’t disappoint – with its greenery, cathedral and ample shopping facilities plus coffee shops, bistros and restaurants as well as leisure facilities, who wouldn’t want to live here? A wide range of property is available both new build and older property, houses, apartments, and all imaginable styles.
But what would I find on my visit to Woodcote House in the popular Summersdale area? I had some difficulty in finding the site and only realised I had found it when I was literally past it! The visibility of signage was inferior.
The exterior traditional design of the apartments themselves is pleasing to the eye. Parking for residents (with two visitors’ spaces) is at the front of the development but this is softened by woodchip and plant landscaping and design which is yet to mature. I found it a little difficult to find the entrance to the show-home, but once directed, I was greeted by the very welcoming and presentable Show Home Sales Negotiator.
I was guided through all 6 apartments, including the Penthouse, but by far the furnished property (No 2) gave me an indication of dimensions and décor. The Show-home doubled as the Sales Office and therefore confusion reigned as to where I might place my dining room table and chairs. My particular favourite rooms were the kitchen and the master bedroom (many coming with an ensuite), purely from a layout perspective and the modern, light furniture. The apartments are offered with carpets and white goods as standard. Bliss was in Bedroom 1 with the wall-to-wall wardrobes, enough for any women to put all her Gucci, Prada or Moschinos!
A local one-stop shop is an easy stroll, whilst Chichester’s vast shopping facilities are a further 10 minutes’ drive. The number 60 bus ventures along Lavant Road. Chichester also has a railway station.
I was most impressed by natural available light at Woodcote House and its mature trees in the neighbourhood. Gas Central Heating, integrated wiring for digital, cable or satellite TV, ceramic tiling to kitchens and bathrooms, and video entry system but no lift. I wonder who my neighbours might be?
Attentive manner
The on-site sales negotiator was attentive from the moment I walked through the door, and accompanied me to all the apartments. I was not told about any incentives, but then the development has only been open for a few weeks. I’m sure this development will suit someone looking for a classic traditional apartment with modern interior, but who also loves visiting the theatres and enjoying everything that Chichester and its surrounding towns and villages has to offer.
