Heather Hilder-Darling BA(Hons) FIDM , Partner & Director of Marketing

Bob started up the, what is now a family, business in 1991, and I've worked with Bob 1995. We developed the concept of marketing land and brand new homes on the web in 2000. My activities cover all aspects of the business, and my interest in Direct & Digital Marketing continues to grow with the birth of e-marketing and social media. Property is a passion, from sourcing the land to working with Planners, Surveyors, Architects and Interior Designers. We’re clearly delighted with our multiple industry awards. I’m a member of various networking and professional groups including the Institute of Directors, and Institute of Digital & Direct Marketing. I play tennis at West Worthing Club, and am a fan of Andy Murray and Roger Federer. My golf handicap currently stands at 9 at Worthing Golf Club, where I was honoured to hold the post of Lady Captain 2015-2016. My most interest game of golf was at Arundel Golf & Country Club near Brisbane, where we had to shoo the kangaroos off the tees! I've loved languages since starting French at age 11, and am currently improving my Spanish and German. I worked in Europe from the age of 19-26 in France, Belgium and Italy. Travel features highly on my 'to do' list.

Robert Hilder

Robert Hilder, Land Director

The 'calling' to Estate Agency began in Brighton & Hove when I was 16, working for businesses including Mellor & Mellor, Fox & Sons and Clifford Dann. When I joined the Land Buying team of McCarthy & Stone in my early 30s, I knew I’d found my passion. Redundancy from Seaward & Co in 1990 saw me hit the ground running when I saw a gap in the market for independent land buying. In 1991 the basis of Land & Brand New Homes was formed. During the early years, everything was borrowed or begged - the fax machine, my very first mobile phone, my youngest daughter’s bedroom was commandeered as my office, and even my car! Now we operate from Purpose Built offices in Worthing, West Sussex, with a strong team of professionals around me. Late in 2016 we celebrated 25 years in business - a real eye-opener and success story. The Land Department is involved in the sourcing, acquisition, and marketing of land and brand new homes from Dorset to Kent, and further north, often acting for major national developers and land owners. We manage strategic land acquisitions, Option & Promotional Agreements, with much success. My work is exciting. My three children have grown up and moved out, and in my spare time I walk and play golf. I gave up competitive yachting a wide berth since a near fatal accident on a Channel race some years ago. I work out at the gym several times a week. My love of old cars is also well documented and I spend considerable hours maintaining my 1958 Austin Healey, and 1969 Jaguar. Five years ago I became a grandfather, and since our latest trip to Australia, I am now affectionately known as 'Crocodile Grandee'.

Gill Raimondo

Gill Raimondo, Land Secretary

I had worked as a PA/Office Manager in architectural practices for 12 years, when I joined Land & Brand New Homes in 2012. With experience in the construction industry, and having dealt mainly with large residential developers as clients, but also collaborating closely with engineers, surveyors, planning consultants, etc, my skills were closely aligned to those required within the busy Land Department. My father owned a local construction company and my brother is a surveyor/developer, so the apple hasn’t dropped far from the tree, so to speak! Over the last five years, I have gained experience in identifying sites, liaising with landowners and ultimately marketing sites to our clients. I am completely fluent in Italian, both formal and colloquial, having lived and worked in the country for 13 years. In my spare time I salsa dance and travel as much as I can.

Samantha Hatwell

Samantha Hatwell, Land Secretary

I joined Land & Brand New Homes as a secretary to the Land Department in January 2013 and having never worked in this field I am really enjoying this varied and interesting role. I have always had an interest in property and land, having taken on projects myself, so feel lucky to be working for this company, in a busy land department, with friendly colleagues. I am originally from the Surrey/Hampshire area where, for the past 20 years or so, I was personal assistant to a partner at a large firm of solicitors in the criminal law department. This was a very hectic, interesting and varied role and I would encounter some very, shall we say, interesting characters and I don’t think anything could shock me now! In 2012, after having totally refurbished two houses with my husband, we decided on a change of lifestyle and moved to the coast. We have taken on yet another project, but on a smaller scale. When finished we are hoping to enjoy plenty of walks with our two lovely little dogs along the beach and up on the Downs. I also have quite a passion for gardening, and jigsaw puzzles - and have completed two as team game within the company.

Helen Moore

Helen Moore, Finance Manager

I began my employment with the R W Hilder Group in 2013 and it was, and continues to be, a pleasure to work with a very friendly and professional team in real estate. In 2015 I was promoted to Finance Manager with responsibility for the Land, Brand New Homes, Lettings and Sales accounts. I ensure that Callaways adheres to ARLA requirements for client accounting, working in collaboration with the companies’ Accountants. My responsibilities extend to the accounting functions within the Group and overall supervision of the Accounts Team. I work directly with the Business Owners ensuring that the companies’ welfare is guaranteed. I have numerous years of accounting knowledge behind me and have worked for companies as diverse as architects, animation, insurance, technology and the world wide web. My previous position was with a local accountants where I provided analysis and preparation of service charge accounts. My daily routine is not complete without some form of exercise, be it a 6.30h start at the local gym or playing badminton. I spend a lot of time walking and have completed several long distance walks including a 40 mile walk in one day. I attempt two new activities every year and can now ballroom dance, which I love and have tried sailing and hated it; as Forrest Gump said ‘life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get’.
