Land Farmed out for New Housing

In 2000 Land & Brand New Homes identified a Greenfield site which extended to some 83 acres. There were 2 land owners, 1 being a multi-national company and in 2007 we were appointed by The Courtwick Partnership to work alongside a promoter in gaining a planning consent for 600 residential dwellings, which included 4,000 square metres of commercial with the usual Public Open Space, LEAPS and LAPS.

There was substantial opposition to the application, however utilising Examinations in Public and promoting the benefits of contributions that were made under the auspice of the Section 106, consent was gained at Committee rather than at Appeal.

The Section 106 was not forthcoming until late January 2012. Issues relating to the bus route and ground conditions all came to the fore as the transaction progressed.

Detailed information was prepared and was offered to a selective market and terms were eventually agreed with Barratt Southern Counties, who brought in a partner, Bellway Homes (Wessex). Contracts were finalised on the 29th June 2012.
