This superb 14.4 hectare residential site is situated on the edge of the village, located to the north of East Lane and to the east of Long Reach in West Horsley
Following lengthy negotiations with the Design Officer at Guildford Borough Council, full planning consent was received for the erection of 132 dwellings, 55 of which are affordable, alongside provision of Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG), together with new Junior Sports Hall, two Padel Tennis Courts and Nursery School Facility with associated accesses, car parking, refuse/re cycling storage, landscaping, earthworks and infrastructure
As part of the development, Thakeham Homes proposed the formal public use of the woodland. This will involve the future maintenance of the woodland as well as its paths etc
At the centre of the site the proposal includes a sports hall with full changing facilities, seating/viewing area, a small kitchen with coffee bar and a separate studio which could offer bicycle spinning classes, Pilates and yoga classes.
A requirement of the allocation of this site was that the existing nursery be retained. Thakeham Homes retained this facility, extending to provide two new classrooms, providing additional capacity. The nursery will also be able to utilise the proposed sports hall.
